"A few years ago I had a luthier go in and resolder some of the wiring inside, but that’s all that’s been done to her since I got her in 1991. The luthier said he thought she’s a 1963 model, but he’d never seen a blonde ‘63 with a red headstock, so either it’s not the original neck or it’s a different year. Grandpa liked to tinker with things, so that’s entirely possible.
He seemed to think it was a pretty valuable guitar, but it’s got too much sentimental value for me to ever sell, so that part doesn’t really matter.”[X]
